KUCHING, Dec 26: PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) has confirmed that a number of vehicles were affected after refuelling at the PETRONAS Station along the Samarahan Expressway, following an incident that went viral on social media on Wednesday (Dec 24).

PDB assured customers that all other PETRONAS stations are operating as usual and are not affected by the incident.

“PDB is in contact with the affected customers and has taken the necessary steps to resolve the matter promptly.

“PDB takes this matter seriously and sincerely apologises to all customers for any inconvenience caused,” the statement said.

The incident drew widespread attention after several motorists reported that their cars and motorcycles stalled shortly after leaving the station.

Information circulating online suggested that a technical malfunction in the station’s fuel storage system may have resulted in fuel contamination.
