RM324,000 to help victims of the Blackfield House fire

BINTULU, 5 Oct: A total of 23 Chief Residents (KIR) affected by the fire in Padang Maleng House (Rh) received disaster relief amounting to RM324,000.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam said the aid was channelled as a government effort to help alleviate the burden of victims affected by the fire.

According to him, the total aid channelled taking into account the needs of 23 KIRs involved involves a total of 125 victims.

"The aid provided amounted to RM324,000 and involved 23 KIRs with a total of 125 victims affected", he said during the fire disaster relief check handover ceremony in Rh Padang Maleng, here today.

According to him, the channelling of aid reflects the Sarawak Government's concern for the welfare of disaster victims especially those facing loss or damage to their homes due to fire.

He said the aid was expected to help victims move on and reduce their burden.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Dato Majang Renggi followed by Datuk Majang Renggi who was also a Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) Samalaju and Director of Sarawak Community Welfare Department Semawi Mohamad.
