KUCHING: The main road of Kampung Salak is set to undergo a significant upgrade that will benefit the local community.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, who is also the Santubong MP, said that the upgrade would be funded through the rural transformation project (RTP) with an allocation around RM400,000.
“The current road is constructed with wood, which is why we are planning to upgrade it to a cemented road for the main thoroughfare in the area,” Nancy told reporters after officiating the Back to School programme at Dewan As Sakinah, SK Salak, here today (Jan 28).
Further, Nancy expressed her gratitude for community programmes like Back to School, noting their importance in connecting her with the educational institutions in her constituency.
“This is my first visit to SK Salak. It’s enlightening to witness the school’s environment firsthand.
“Through this, we can identify other areas of improvement and extend our support to them,” she added.
