RM80,000 to strengthen the facilities of Jernang River Village and schools

SAMARAHAN CITY, 20 September: RM80,000 was channelled to support the needs of community and school facilities in Jernang Sungai Village here.

Stakan State Advisory Council (ADUN) member, Datuk Hamzah Brahim said the allocation included RM50,000 for providing parking facilities in rural areas, while another RM20,000 to help schools get tables and chairs for students.

"RM10,000 has been donated to the organizers of the Dinner Celebration of Kuih Moon 2026.As a representative of the people in the DUN Stakan area, I remain consistent in ensuring the well-being, infrastructure facilities and welfare of the residents of this region are always awake and well enhanced.

"I am also always open to hearing the views and needs of villagers through JKKK, KRT and local leadership", he said during the event held at the Serbaguna Hall in Jernangn Sungai Village on Saturday.

According to Hamzah, the provision reflects the ongoing efforts of the Government of Sarawak in ensuring that basic needs of local communities are taken into account, including public facilities.

He said that the celebration of the Moon Rising is not only a place to celebrate Chinese traditions, but also an opportunity for communities of different races to come together and bond.

He said that the diversity of communities in the Stakan and Samarahan area composed of various races is among the strengths to be maintained through a spirit of mutual respect and solidarity. -TVS
