KUCHING, Apr 7: Dancers from Tyng Dance Academy (TDA) secured two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the Asian Elite Dance Competition, held from March 26 to 29 at the Performing Arts Centre of Petaling Jaya (PJPAC), Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to the medal haul, the dancers earned multiple finalist positions and top rankings, reinforcing Sarawak’s presence on the national stage.
Highlighting individual achievement, TDA dancer Geraldine Su Wei Ting received a scholarship to the International Elite Arts Festival 2026, reflecting her technical skill and artistic promise.
The results are the culmination of years of structured training and consistent practice at TDA, with performances demonstrating both technical precision and stage presence, positioning Sarawak among the country’s competitive dance contingents.
Founder and principal Chan Tyng Tyng said the achievement underscores the value of disciplined training and the structured development of young dancers, rather than the medals alone.
“Our academy continues to focus on providing disciplined training and opportunities for dancers to develop their skills nationally and internationally,” she said.
The outcome also reflects Sarawak’s continued support for cultural and artistic development, demonstrating the state’s ability to cultivate dancers capable of competing on national platforms. — DayakDaily
