KUCHING, Mar 28: The Sarawak government is currently evaluating the type of assistance to be announced in the near future to help ease the burden on the people affected by rising prices driven by global developments, particularly the conflict in the Middle East.

According to Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, this was said by Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House hosted by the Office of the Premier of Sarawak held here on Friday (Mar 27).

“In his speech, he said that the matter has been discussed with the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Ugah Embas, who is also the Second Minister of Finance.

“Further consideration is being carried out to ensure that the assistance provided truly benefits the people,” said Nanta in a Facebook post.

At the same time, Nanta, who is also the MP for Kapit, expressed admiration for Abang Johari’s leadership.

“He consistently places the interests of the people first and is always listening to their concerns,” he said. — DayakDaily
