S’wak wins four golds in Sukma XXI taekwondo

KUCHING (Aug 18): Sarawak won four golds in the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) Taekwondo finals tonight at the Sarawak Indoor Stadium.

With these gold medals, Sarawak continues to lead in the Sukma medal tally with 23 golds won as of 9pm tonight.

The four gold medals in the Taekwondo event were won by AJ Ong Yang Yi in the 87kg category against Nur Putra Adam Azlan Noor Azlan from Federal Territories with 2-0; Puteri Durratun Zulaikha Samat in the 73kg category against Fu Chervyn from Terengganu (2-0); Mohamad Zulhafiz Zulhadi in the over 87 kg category against Lim Jia Wei from Federal Territories (2-0); and Pretty Amisha Amanda Francesca in the over 73kg against Selangor’s Nurul Aesyah Aqilah Mohd Sukeri.

The medals presentation ceremony will be held on Aug 19.
