KUCHING (March 20): Sacofa Sdn Bhd has contributed RM2.93 million in business zakat to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) for the financial year 2025.
Sacofa chief executive officer Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff presented the contribution to Majlis Islam Sarawak president Datuk Misnu Taha during a handing-over ceremony held at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi on Thursday.
Witnessing the handing over were Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Minister of Utility and Telecommunication cum Sacofa chairman Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Sacofa’s zakat contribution for the 2025 financial year represents an increase from RM2.90 million recorded in 2024.
The contribution fulfils the company’s syariah (Islamic law) obligations while reflecting its continued commitment to corporate responsibility and support for social welfare programmes in the state.
