KUCHING, March 19: Telecommunications infrastructure provider SACOFA Sdn Bhd contributed business zakat amounting to RM2,933,495 to the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS) today, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare and community development in the State.

The zakat was presented by SACOFA’s chief executive officer, Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathif, to the Yang Dipertua of the Sarawak Islamic Council, Datuk Misnu Taha, during a ceremony at the Sri Pertiwi Complex here.

In a TVS news, SACOFA highlighted that the 2025 financial year contribution marks an increase from RM2,903,514 in 2024, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“The zakat contribution not only fulfils our Shariah obligations but also underscores SACOFA’s dedication to the socio-economic advancement of the Sarawak Muslim community.

“This support will benefit education, welfare programs, and community initiatives led by TBS,” SACOFA said.

Also present at the event were SACOFA chairman Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi and TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie. — DayakDaily
