SARA monthly aid credited to eligible recipients from today

KUCHING, Oct 1: The monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance has been credited to the MyKad accounts of eligible recipients from today.

Under the scheme, Ministry of Finance (MOF) said households receiving Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will receive RM100 a month, while eligible senior citizens and single individuals will each receive RM50.

For recipients who qualify under both the STR and eKasih categories, the monthly assistance is higher, at RM200 for households, RM150 for senior citizens and RM100 for single individuals, the ministry said in a post on X.

The SARA assistance can be used to purchase essential goods from 15 approved categories, covering more than 140,000 items, including rice, eggs, bread, cooking oil, over-the-counter medicines, frozen and canned food, as well as school supplies.

The assistance can be redeemed at more than 14,700 selected supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide, it added. — Bernama
