KUCHING: Sarawak's stability and bright prospects make the state an attractive investment destination, says Kuching South mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.

He said this could be seen in many new investments coming into the state.

"The reason is, first, because we have a stable government. Second, the future of Sarawak is bright.

"Our Premier (Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) has been moving in international platforms and putting Sarawak in a good position on the world map," he told reporters after opening a new furniture store here on Wednesday (Jan 31).

Wee said the store, a Chinese company outlet, was an example of an investment in Sarawak.

"We are happy to welcome a new concept of furniture supply that includes design, installation, and finishing works," he said.

Wee called on Sarawakians to appreciate the state's stability and to continue working together to bring Sarawak to greater heights.

"Let's not fight against each other, but let's put all our efforts together so that one day we will move forward into a new era," he said
