“For the other sports, preparations and training are well underway. We also have several competitions lined up in Kuching leading up to SUKMA.

“I feel that we have already entered third gear,” he said during a visit to the karate venue for the 4th Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) 2026 at the Lubok Antu District Police Headquarters Hall today.

Commenting on the scope of training, Gerald said most athletes have begun intensive preparation both locally and abroad to further enhance their performance.

Meanwhile, the second day of SUKSAR continued in full swing, with several events offering multiple medal opportunities. The boxing competition, concluding today at the Indoor Stadium, Sri Aman Sports Complex, features 11 gold medals.

Other medal events include cycling (road race), karate, weightlifting, and taekwondo.

Also present at the event were Lubok Antu MP Roy Angau Gingkoi and Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) acting chief executive officer Khairul Nizam Morshidi. — DayakDaily
