DARO: The Sarawak government is committed to supporting entrepreneurs in the state by not only providing infrastructure but also imparting knowledge.
Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad pointed out the importance of entrepreneurial knowledge in the rapidly changing business landscape due to market and societal shifts.
“This is crucial as the entrepreneurial field is dynamic and constantly evolving.
“By equipping participants with the latest knowledge suitable for the present time, we can overcome challenges and ensure their relevance in the business world.
“I am confident that continuous training would enable entrepreneurs to stay relevant despite changing times and varying needs.”
He said this when officiating the handover ceremony of the Mobile Kiosk Entrepreneurship Assistance Programmeme at the Daro Community Hall here on Monday (Jan 29).
The handover ceremony, part of the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Development Programme (PUTERA), involved granting mobile kiosk grants to Bumiputera smallholders in Matu and Daro to enhance their businesses.
During the event, 20 mobile kiosk units were distributed to identified entrepreneurs.
Simultaneously, a certification ceremony for the Basic Entrepreneurship Course and Business Skills, organised by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and Matu-Daro District Council (MDMD), took place.
The event also featured the launch of the Clean Premises Award for Entrepreneurs, organised by MDMD.
Highlighting the rapid development in Daro, Safiee mentioned various ongoing development projects directly benefiting local entrepreneurs.
Towards this end, he urged entrepreneurs to prepare for upcoming mega projects, particularly the Muara Lassa Bridge, which he believes will be a game-changer for the region’s economic landscape.
He noted that projects like the Entrepreneurial Pavilion, the Permanent Farmers’ Market Building, and the Daro River Embankment Project are anticipated to be key attractions for the area’s growth.
