KUCHING (Feb 12): A total of 408 civil servants from 18 departments and agencies were conferred the Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia (Loyal Service Medal) at a ceremony held at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex on Wednesday.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the medal presentation ceremony was graced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The ceremony marked the first session for 2026, honouring recipients from both state and federal government agencies in recognition of their distinguished service and unwavering loyalty.
Among the heads of departments who received the medal were Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, Serian Division Resident Caroline Cleophas Joseph, Director of the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak Datu Dr Adrian Susin Ambud, and Director of the Sarawak Public Works Department Datu Dr Cassidy Morris.
Other recipients included Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Datu Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Sarawak Department of Agriculture director Dominic Chunggat, and Sarawak Social Welfare Department director Semawi Mohamad.
Several other recipients were also recognised for their dedicated and loyal service spanning 39 years in the state civil service.
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia symbolises the Sarawak government’s appreciation for civil servants who have demonstrated strong commitment in carrying out their duties and responsibilities to the state and its people.
Present at the ceremony were Sarawak DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak DUN Deputy Speaker Dato Idris Buang, deputy ministers, and other distinguished guests.
