KUCHING (March 20): Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd contributed safety helmets, reflective vests and goody bags for the ‘Op Selamat 26’ road safety campaign in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The event was held at the Darul Hana Petros multi-fuel kiosk and organised in collaboration with the Kuching District Police Headquarters on Thursday.

Sarawak Metro director of Quality, Safety, Health, Environment and Traffic (QSHET), Captain (R) Omar Husin led the company team in the distribution of the items to passing motorcyclists.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Metro chief executive officer Mazli Mustaffa said they were honoured to collaborate with the Royal Malaysia Police from the Kuching district in promoting road safety awareness.

“During this Hari Raya festive season, it is important for all road users to drive safely, especially as the number of vehicles on the road is expected to increase,” he said in a statement.

He expressed his appreciation to Kuching District Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu and his team for giving Sarawak Metro the opportunity to collaborate on this road safety campaign.

Mazli also extended his festive greetings to all Muslims celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and thanked road users for their patience, as Sarawak Metro continues to implement the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project.
