KUCHING, Jan 26: With vast experiences in previous fields, it is an apt choice for Tun Dr Wan Junadi Tuanku Jaafar to be appointed next Sarawak Governor (TYT), opined Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Abdul Karim, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (Mysed), said it is the right choice because Wan Junaidi has long served in fields involving legislation and leadership.

“He was a minister, a parliamentary member, a Dewan Rakyat Speaker, and many others.

“We would be very proud a Sarawakian who has held such positions becomes TYT,” he told reporters when met at a Mysed programme at a local hotel.

On Jan 19, news portal The Malaysian Insight reported that Wan Junaidi submitted his resignation as Dewan Negara president.

Rumours circulated that he would assume the Sarawak Governor role, succeeding Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud. — DayakDaily
