KUCHING, April 3: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has conveyed his Good Friday and Easter greetings to Christians throughout the State, highlighting Sarawak’s enduring spirit of unity and harmony.
In a message issued by Astana Sarawak, Wan Junaidi, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi and their family, extended their warmest wishes to those observing Good Friday tomorrow and celebrating Easter.
He described the occasion as a meaningful time of reflection and renewal — underscoring values of understanding and harmony that continue to define Sarawak’s multicultural society.
Wan Junaidi noted that the State’s unique social fabric is strengthened by the close bonds shared among its people, where individuals of different faiths and backgrounds come together in mutual respect.
“Simple gestures such as sharing meals, exchanging greetings, and extending care to one another reflect the true essence of unity that we cherish,” he said.
Despite differences in faith, he added that Sarawakians remain united by common values of compassion, kindness, and respect — principles that sustain peace and cohesion within the community.
He expressed hope that the occasion would bring joy, peace, and comfort to those celebrating, while serving as a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness, and shared humanity.
Wan Junaidi also called on all communities to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and mutual respect to ensure that the harmony enjoyed in Sarawak remains strong for future generations. — DayakDaily
