KUCHING, 10 Oct: Sarawak Water and the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) respectively appeared in the category of Law Enforcement Agencies and Departments at the Intercontinental Movement Standards Competition and Giant Meeting in conjunction with the 80th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Old Sarawak State on Padang Merdeka, today.
In the Association category, Dayak Bidayuh National Association took first place, followed by Kadayan Kuching Association as deputy leader while Federation of Orang Ulu Associations Sarawak Malaysia came in third.
For the category of Administrative Offices, Sarikei Division Administration emerged johan, followed by Open Division Administration in second place and Sri Aman Division Administration in third place.
The Ministry category also saw the Sarawak Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) win a championship while the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts (MTCP) won second place, followed by the Sarawak Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development (MYSED).
Meanwhile, the Board for Sustainable Development (BDA) emerged in the Enforcement category, followed by Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) and Sarawak Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) respectively in second and third places.
Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd also topped the competition, while Sarawak Forestry Corporation Berhad and Sarawak Energy Berhad took second and third places respectively.
For the Special Creative Awards, Sarawak Malay Culture Foundation (AKYBMS) Trust Khairat won the title, followed by National Dayak Bidayuh Association as deputy chairman and Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESTY) in third place.
A total of 107 contingents joined the parade this morning which includes various ministries, departments, government agencies, corporate sector as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs). - TVS
