KUCHING (Dec 6): A search and rescue (SAR) operation is underway after two five-year-old girls went missing from their home in Kampung Pasir Pandak this evening.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 8pm reporting that Humaira Qalesya Mohd Dir and Nur Ashafieya Aisyah Abd Nasru had gone missing.
A team of nine firefighters from Petra Jaya station was immediately dispatched following the report from Santubong Police Station.
“The team is still gathering further information on the chronology of the disappearance and has begun an initial search at the location,” Bomba said in a statement.
Other agencies assisting in the operation include six personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and seven from the Civil Defence Force (APM).
