Senior citizen killed in crash

BINTULU: An elderly man died on the spot after the Perodua Kancil he was driving crashed into a tree at Jalan Kidurong here today.

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call at 8.55 am.

“The 67-year-old Perodua Kancil driver, identified as Dai Swee Fah, was trapped in his seat.

“Firefighters worked to extricate him and handed him over to paramedics,” Bomba said.

Despite their efforts, paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

His body was then handed over to the police to transport to the hospital.
