Serian District Education Office to get dedicated building, says MP

KUCHING (Jan 24): Serian’s District Education Office (PPD) is set to get its own dedicated building, said MP Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem.

Currently, the Serian PPD operates from temporary premises at SK Serian.

Riot said that, according to a parliamentary reply from the Education Ministry (MoE), the project to construct the new building has been approved under Rolling Plan Five (RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) for 2025.

“The project is currently at the pre-construction stage, with tender documents being prepared,” he said in a statement, citing the MoE parliamentary reply.

He added that the new Serian PPD building will be implemented by the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) using the conventional consultancy method.

“The construction of a dedicated district education office is expected to support the operational needs of education administration in Serian by providing more suitable office space and enhancing service delivery to schools and the local community,” he said.
