Serian MP distributes Raya aid to 84 elderly residents

KUCHING (March 13): A total 84 recipients from 14 villages received contributions under the ‘Sumbangan Ikhlas Setulus Kasih’ programme from Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot on Thursday.

The beneficiaries included elderly members of the Muslim community in the Serian parliamentary constituency, with 20 individuals from the Serian District Mosque and several local surau.

Each recipient received cash assistance and a festive cookie package to help with preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, according to a statement from Riot’s service centre.

“Although the contribution may be modest, I hope it will help ease their preparations for Hari Raya,” Riot said at the event.

He also conveyed his Hari Raya greetings to the Muslim community and expressed appreciation to all parties and recipients who attended the event and supported the programme.
