KUCHING, Dec 27: The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church Batu Kawa has received a RM200,000 grant from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) to support church development and improvement works.
Batu Kitang Assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang said the fund will be used to enhance the facilities for worship, community activities and services for church members.
“The Sarawak government ensures that all religious communities receive fair support, reflecting Sarawak’s long-standing values of unity, mutual respect, and religious freedom,” he said during a cheque presentation ceremony held at the church sanctuary today.
Representatives of the SDA Batu Kawa Church, including church leaders and members, expressed their gratitude for the contribution and visit.
Besides that, the ceremony has strengthened ties between the community and their elected representative, highlighting cooperation and goodwill in Batu Kitang. — DayakDaily
