Sibu man shot at close range in vehicle during school pickup

SIBU, Oct 24: A man, in his 40s, was shot at close range today at Lane 11, Jalan Wong King Hoe.

The incident occurred around 2.30pm while the victim was seated in the driver’s seat of his 4WD vehicle, preparing to pick up his son from school.

After the gunman fled the scene, the victim managed to open the door and call for help before collapsing in the bushes beside the road.

Sibu District Police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

“The victim has been rushed to the hospital for treatment. We are still looking into the case,” he emphasised.

The victim is a Chinese man, and he is currently receiving care at the hospital. — DayakDaily
