SIBU (Dec 27): Sibu MP Service Centre will host its first food subsidy programme on Jan 3, 2026 at the Orange Zone of Star Megamall here.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling said the subsidised food package consists of eight items including 900g Milo, cooking oil, 10kg of white rice, one packet of rice vermicelli, instant noodles, biscuits, canned curry chicken and 30 eggs.

“The original price of the full package is RM82.05, but with the subsidy, it will be sold at RM55, allowing the public to enjoy savings of about 32 per cent,” he said in a statement.

Ling said the programme is limited to 1,000 sets and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Interested buyers are required to register and collect a queue number at the event counter at the Orange Zone starting from 9am on the day of the event, before proceeding to Daesco Supermarket to make the purchase using the shopping voucher provided.

He added that voucher holders who purchase RM20 or more worth of milk powder will be entitled to a RM5 rebate upon presentation of the receipt.

The rebate is limited to once per person.

“The subsidised food programme is cash payment only,” he added.
