Sicta pays Lunar New Year courtesy visit to Lanang MP, discusses ICT growth in Sarawak

SIBU (Feb 21): The Council of the Sarawak ICT Association (Sicta) paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker and Lanang MP, Alice Lau on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year to extend festive greetings and strengthen industry ties.

The visit was marked by a warm and lively atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of the festive season.

During the meeting, Sicta President Kong Sieng Kieng expressed appreciation to Lau for her continued attention and support towards the growth of Sarawak’s local technology and business sectors.

Kong also briefed Lau on the association’s achievements over the past year and outlined its strategic direction, including efforts to enhance digital adoption, promote technological innovation, and empower youth participation in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.

Both parties exchanged views on key issues such as digital transformation, industry collaboration, and talent development, underscoring their shared commitment to elevating Sarawak’s technology ecosystem to greater heights.

Lau commended the association for its proactive role in promoting industry development and fostering unity within the sector.

“I would like to wish the association and its members continued success and prosperity in the New Year,” said Lau.
