MERADONG: Chinese national-type primary school SJK (C) Su Tak will receive a RM10,000 special grant to support its activities next year.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said the allocation was aimed at supporting the school’s educational and development activities.

“I hope the contribution will benefit the school and its pupils, while helping to further strengthen its educational and development activities,” he was quoted as saying in a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

Ding announced the allocation during the school’s Mid-Autumn Festival and Children’s Day celebration at the SJK(C) Su Tak hall here on Friday (Sept 18).

He said continued attention would also be given to the school’s needs, particularly in preschool education and the improvement of its facilities.

On the role of the wider community, Ding said providing a good education for children should not rest on schools alone.

He said parents and the community also had a role to play in creating a safe and conducive environment for children to learn and grow.

Closer cooperation among all parties, he added, would help ensure children receive the support they need throughout their education.
