SKS Opened a mold idea to produce new products

MUKAH, 4 Oct: Connection encourages visitors to local products throughout the Sarawakku Sayang Program (SKS) Open encourages entrepreneurs Bawal Seraong by Pelangi Malamang who previously actively sell online soft cover products Melanau plans to produce new products in pairs of fabrics.

Mohd Syurafa Afifi Median said that the demand for visitors throughout the programme was one of the factors in his plans to produce matching fabrics as a new product in the future.

"As long as SKS is open, thank God, the reception is very encouraging. We brought 400 pieces of cloth and now we're down to less than 100.

"If God wills, at the request of visitors to SKS Mukah, we'll take out matching cloth", he said when meeting TVS on the last day of SKS here today.

Meanwhile, the reception to batik products was also encouraging as most of the products purchased by visitors during the three-day programme involved fabric production from Batik Linut Sdn Bhd.

Director of Linut Batik Production Sdn Bhd, Andrea James said that the reception received by her during the Open SKS exceeded expectations, thus giving confidence to continue participating in future programs and events.

"Throughout the three-day SKS program, thankfully, the reception was very encouraging. We actually expected a good reception, but I didn't think it would be so encouraging", he said.

According to him, most of the products sold are fabrics while adding that he plans to join several upcoming programs including Regatta-related programs to introduce and market Batik Linut's products to more visitors.

Meanwhile, Open Area Farmers' Organization (OFAS) trader Zarina Ahmad Torky said that the SKS reception made food products welcome such as beef and beef flour which are almost out of stock.

"This Open SKS is a relief, previously it was quite slow especially in the early stages of the program", he explained.
