KUCHING, March 16: In the spirit of Ramadan, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap delivered food baskets to 56 families across his constituency yesterday (March 15), bringing practical support to those in need.
The “Sejambak Kasih YB” Food Basket Distribution Programme, organised by the Kota Sentosa Service Centre with support from Farley Mall, aimed to ease the burden on families during the holy month and help them prepare for Hari Raya.
“Even though the contribution may be modest, it comes from sincere hearts and reflects the strong spirit of togetherness in our community.
“I believe it is this willingness to help one another that makes Kota Sentosa a strong, harmonious, and united community,” Yap said during an iftar session with community leaders and food basket recipients.
The recipients included 36 families from Kampung Batu Perak, 18 from Kampung Stutong Melayu, and 2 families linked to Masjid Darul Barakah, Taman Satria Jaya.
Each basket contained essential items such as raw chicken, fresh vegetables, fucuk (tofu skin), coconut milk, curry powder, canned drinks, spices, and nuts.
