BINTULU (Jan 24): SMK Bandar Bintulu has received RM366,750 under the Early Schooling Assistance scheme, aimed at easing the financial burden on students and their families.
The cheque was presented by Steven Kong, a special aide to Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, during a symbolic handover ceremony held at the school yesterday.
In his address, Kong said the assistance was more than just financial aid.
“This support is not merely a figure on a cheque, but a form of relief for parents and an encouragement for students to attend school with greater enthusiasm,” he said.
Kong added that similar initiatives would continue in the coming years to ensure that no student is deprived of education due to financial constraints faced by their families.
“Education is the foundation that can lead students towards a brighter future,” he noted.
Kong also conveyed Tiong’s appreciation to the Ministry of Education, the Sarawak State Education Department, and the Bintulu District Education Office for their efforts in ensuring the smooth and orderly implementation of the assistance.
“I hope every student who receives this aid will continue to excel academically and develop strong character, eventually becoming valuable assets to their religion, community and the nation,” he added.
