SMK Baru Bintulu triumphs at youth forum competition in KL

KUCHING (July 12): SMK Baru Bintulu emerged champion in the national-level Youth Forum 2024 competition held at Balai Budaya Tun Syed Nasir, Wisma Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The team representing Sarawak took home a cash prize of RM2,500 and books published by DBP, said a representative from the state Education Department when contacted by The Borneo Post.

Team member Ronald Rio Sulan was also named Best Forum Member, earning an additional cash prize of RM300 and more books from DBP.

The SMK Baru Bintulu team included Atasha Fatin Fazirah Abdul Rahman, Kahirunnisa Quratu Aini Abu Bakar, Eva Elishya Bulan Freddy and Rossa Remy William, led by teachers Teong Ung Ung and Nancy Ahamdie Chen.

A total of 16 teams from across the country participated in the two-day competition co-organised by DBP and the Ministry of Education.
