KUCHING (Dec 24): The refurbishing and upgrading works on SMK DPHA Gapor’s facilities are scheduled for completion in January next year.
In announcing this, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap said the RM200,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project would also involve road resurfacing within the school compound.
He said in a statement issued in connection with a site visit to the school, where he was accompanied by Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak personnel and the school’s principal William Tedong.
During the visit, Yap also witnessed the handing-over of the letter of appointment and project site of RTP 2024 to the contractor, Syarikat Bumi Waja.
The site visit also marked the handing-over of the completed RTP 2023 project, which was allocated RM150,000, to the school administration.
The project comprised the construction of a new toilet block.
“These projects reflect a continuous effort of responding to feedback from schools, parents, and the local community, and reaffirm the state government’s commitment to upgrading school infrastructure.
“This is to ensure that no student is left behind,” said Yap.
