KUCHING (Feb 17): The festive spirit was in full swing at Sarawak Legal Counsel Dato’ Sri JC Fong’s Chinese New Year (CNY) open house at the Waterfront Hotel, as state leaders and guests from diverse backgrounds gathered to celebrate the season.
Fong and his wife, Datin Sri Annie Yeo, welcomed Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Other prominent visitors included Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof and his wife Datin Amar Ruziah Mohd Tahir; deputy premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nasar; State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohd Abu Bakar Marzuki; State Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato’ Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous lunch, lively entertainment, and spectacular lion dance performances, capped off by a festive appearance from the God of Wealth character, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the celebration.
