KUCHING (March 20): All members of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) must move forward as a united team to safeguard and advance Sarawak’s interests, said State Secretary Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.

He said civil servants must remain fully committed to ensuring that every state government policy, plan and initiative is translated into tangible outcomes that benefit the people.

“The success of SCS depends on strong teamwork and a spirit of togetherness among civil servants to ensure effective and high-impact service delivery,” he extended his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message in a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report on Thursday.

Abu Bakar said the spirit of Aidilfitri should serve as a catalyst for the SCS team to move with greater focus and effectiveness in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to them.

He reminded civil servants that in an ever-changing world, they must not be complacent with existing achievements.

Instead, he said they should continue to enhance their capabilities, improve work processes and be bold in embracing change.

He stressed that it was time for the entire civil service machinery to move forward with renewed energy, greater agility and a results-oriented approach.

“Let us make this Syawal a time for reflection, to renew our resolve and to move forward with the spirit of ‘revisit, rethink and recharge’.”

In addition, Abu Bakar encouraged SCS members to use the festive season to strengthen family ties and social bonds by visiting relatives and friends.

He also advised the public travelling to their hometowns to remain courteous and drive carefully for the safety of all.
