KUCHING, April 21: Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) is targeting an increase to RM35 million in sales among Sarawak exhibitors at this year’s Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 in Singapore, in line with efforts to strengthen the global presence of Sarawak-made products.

Its chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani said the sales target builds on last year’s encouraging performance, which recorded approximately RM24 million.

He added that Sarawak’s participation in such platforms has evolved from purely showcasing products to a more results-driven approach focused on securing commercial deals.

“Moving forward, we do not just want to exhibit products, but to ensure more business agreements are concluded.

“For the next edition, we are targeting at least five companies to successfully reach agreements with international buyers,” he said in an interview with the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) at the Sarawak Pavilion in FHA 2026 in Singapore today.

Morshidi emphasised that Singapore remains a strategic market and a key gateway to the global stage, offering strong potential for Sarawak products to expand into other countries.

He said STATOS will continue encouraging more market-ready Sarawak companies to participate in international platforms, while leveraging networking opportunities and technology to broaden market access and enhance competitiveness.

At this year’s edition, the Sarawak Pavilion features 19 exhibitors, with about 30 per cent making their debut, reflecting growing interest among local entrepreneurs in penetrating international markets.

The exhibitors represent a diverse range of food and beverage segments, including instant beverages and tea, Sarawak pepper, SG1 pineapple-based products, compound butter, pastes and sauces, canned food, craft beverages, bird’s nest, empurau fish, Sacha Inchi oil, plant-based snacks, and bakery products.
