KUCHING (March 7): In the spirit of Ramadan, the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) brightened the lives of 100 underprivileged students from 10 Kuching schools with festive contributions ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The beneficiaries came from Sekolah Rakyat Jalan Haji Bolhassan, SK Merpati Jepang, SK Pajar Sejingkat, SK Kampung Senari, SK Matu Baru, SK Rakyat Tupong, SK Rakyat Astana, SK Goebilt, SK Pulo, and SK Gersik.
According to STIDC, this initiative aims to bring joy and assist with their preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
“This annual initiative is a manifestation of STIDC’s commitment to easing the burden
of the underprivileged and sharing the blessings of Ramadan with the local community,” the corporation saint in a statement.
The Iftar gathering at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching combined a warm communal meal with the joyful distribution of festive contributions, highlighting STIDC’s dedication to corporate social responsibility.
The gifts were handed over to the children by State Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Len Talif Salleh and his wife Datin Asiah Awai.
Also present were State Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development permanent secretary Datu Abdullah Julaihi, STIDC general manager Datu Zainal Abidin Abdullah, and other distinguished guests.
