ADVERTISE HERE
MIRI: A potential disaster was narrowly averted on Tuesday evening (September 3) when a small fire broke out in a home in Bandar Baru Permyjaya. The incident, which occurred around 6:46 pm, involved a circuit board (switch box) located in one of the rooms.
A team of firefighters from the Balai Lutong fire station, led by their chief, Henry Jugah, swiftly responded upon receiving an emergency call. Upon arrival, they found that the fire had only affected three per cent of the circuit board.
Henry, assisted by nearby residents, took command of the situation. They promptly utilized a six-kilogram ABC-type fire extinguisher borrowed from a neighbouring house to completely extinguish the fire before it could escalate.
The operation was successfully concluded at 7:27 pm, with the team ensuring the area was safe before returning to the station. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this incident.
