TATAU (Sept 5): Pesta Tatau 2024 came alive with the vibrant and rhythmic Ngajat Tabuh Iban competition on Wednesday night.
Held at the main stage in the community park of Sungai Jatan, the event was a spectacular showcase of traditional Iban dance, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of over 2,000 spectators.
In the group category, SMK Tatau emerged as the champion, taking home RM1,000.
Se’ Selinggar Tatau and Tandak Remang, in second and third place respectively, received RM800 and RM600.
A total of five teams competed in this category, each bringing their unique flair to the stage.
In the men’s category, Gustin Bedindang Sampai clinched the top spot and received RM400. Alexander Suyong and Steven Lau Rima placed second and third respectively, and received RM300 and RM200.
Meanwhile, Christina Dinang Mistali emerged first in the women’s category and won RM400, while Sebi Undau and Arissa Ayu secured second and third places with RM300 and RM200, respectively.
Among those present were Tatau administrative officers Winnie Dian and Raden Azamry Raden Perhan, and Dayak Tatau Association chairman Eju Giri.
