The car burned down in Matang Jaya Park

KUCHING, Oct 3: A car destroyed in an incident at Matang Jaya Park here last night.

According to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) of Sarawak, a team from Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Police (BBP) received an emergency call at about 12:15 pm and arrived on site 10 minutes later.

"On arrival at the scene, the team found a car completely burned outside a house. No driver or victim was on the scene at the time of the incident", he said in a statement today.

The bomb squad conducted the blackout operation using two auxiliary channels starting with water supply from the pump engine tank.

The fire was brought under control at 12:37 a.m. before operations were fully shut down by 12:54 a.m.

Seven members of Petra Jaya BBP were involved in the operation with the help of a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) machine.
