SONG, 7 Oct: The National Schools (SK) Nanga Temalat, Song, Kapit redevelopment project, implemented under the RM1 billion allocation (Phase 2), Package 10, was fully completed on 18 September.
Director of Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Datu Dr Cassidy Morris, said the project is part of an effort to provide more comfortable and conducive educational facilities, especially for schoolchildren in rural Sarawak.

He said so at the Conclusion of Ready Proposal Project for Initial Development of Daif Schools in Sarawak State at Nanga Temalat SK here today.
According to him, the project includes demolition work and construction of a complete building with mechanical and electrical systems, involving a four-storey administrative block, two twin C-type bunk blocks as well as one men's and women's dormitory block each with capacity for 30 inhabitants.
Subsequently two pump houses were constructed, including a smaller one, four tiered water tank platforms, in addition to pedestrian paths and paring systems.
School facilities are also equipped with statement boards, whiteboards, science room furnishings and workspace restrictions for administrative offices.
He said that the delivery of the project is expected to support smooth teaching and learning process as well as benefit students, teachers and all schoolchildren.
"On this occasion, I would like to express my appreciation to JKR Division Kapit and the contractors for their commitment and cooperation in carrying out the project until it is completed and can be handed over to the school", he said.
