KUCHING (Jan 6): Police have arrested three individuals in three separate drug raids conducted on Monday and Tuesday, with drugs worth RM4,404 seized.
Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said that on Monday, a 31-year-old man was arrested at 3.25pm near a hotel along Jalan Tabuan, where police seized 5.15 grammes of drugs believed to be methamphetamine, valued at RM566.
On the same day, at about 3.30pm, a 36-year-old man was also arrested at a parking lot near a hotel along Jalan Tabuan. Police seized 5.83 grammes of drugs believed to be methamphetamine, worth RM638.
“Both suspects tested positive for drugs and will be investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. They will be remanded from Jan 7 to 9,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
The third suspect, a 24-year-old man, was arrested at 12.40am today at a parking lot near a café along Jalan Tun Jugah.
Police confiscated drugs believed to be MDMA weighing 248.1 grammes, with an estimated value of RM3,200. The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the same Act, and the suspect has been remanded from Jan 7 to Jan 12.
