Three injured in MPV-hatchback collision near Kuching’s Mile 7 flyover

KUCHING (Jan 3): Three men sustained injuries in a collision between a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a hatchback near the Mile 7 flyover this afternoon.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) dispatched personnel from Kota Sentosa fire station after receiving a distress call at 5.45pm.

According to Bomba, the incident involved one man driving the MPV and two men in the hatchback.

The driver and passenger of the hatchback were extricated by members of the public before Bomba personnel arrived, while the MPV driver was extricated by rescue crews and placed on a stretcher.

“All victims were handed over to the paramedics and were sent to the hospital for further treatment,” Bomba said in a statement.

Bomba personnel then conducted flushing operations to clear the accident debris before concluding the rescue operation at 7.11pm.
