Three injured in three-vehicle collision at Jln Bako

KUCHING (Jan 31): A driver and two passengers of a compact car were injured in a three-vehicle collision at the Kampung Goebilt junction along Jalan Bako here.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said rescuers from the Tabuan Jaya fire station were dispatched after receiving a distress call at 9.40am.

“The incident involves three vehicles – a compact car and two multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs). There were three victims in the compact car, involving a man and two women,” Bomba said in a statement.

The driver and front passenger were pinned in their seats, while the rear passenger was pulled out by members of the public before rescuers arrived.

Both trapped victims were extricated using stretchers and taken to hospital for treatment.

The drivers of the two MPVs were uninjured, and the rescue operation concluded at 10.18am.
