SIBU, Oct 3: Two people were killed while another sustained minor injuries in a road accident involving a Perodua Bezza and a Mitsubishi Triton along Jalan Dudong, Kanowit-Julau, here today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at 4.15pm and arrived at the scene seven minutes later.

The two victims in the Bezza, identified as Julaihi Raduan, 52, and Marliza Salleh, 49, were found trapped and unconscious in the vehicle.

Firefighters used rescue tools and a stretcher to extricate both victims before they were confirmed dead by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Triton was carrying five people—two adults and three children, with a 33-year-old woman sustaining minor injuries.

The injured and other occupants received initial treatment from MOH personnel at the scene.

The two deceased victims were subsequently handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action. — DayakDaily
