Thunderstorms, heavy rain warning for Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah until 4pm (Oct 30)

KUCHING, Oct 30: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) forecast rainfall and thunderstorms to pour over Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah until 4pm today.

In an advisory issued at 1pm today, MetMalaysia stated that the adverse weather conditions are expected to affect Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau) and Mukah.

A warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour or expected to last for more than an hour.

The thunderstorm warning is short-term and valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance. — DayakDaily
