Timely courtesy call on Governor

KUCHING: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from the President of the Senate, Senator

Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Friday.

Awang Bemee said that this was his first visit to Wan Junaidi and Fauziah since his appointment as the President of the Senate on July 22.

“Wan Junaidi is a former President of the Senate, and this courtesy visit is very timely for us to seek advice from his experience as a former elected representative, federal Cabinet member, and President of the Senate,” he said.

During the courtesy visit, Awang Bemee and his delegation also brought the official gown worn by Wan Junaidi during his time as President of the Senate.

It was presented to the Head of State as a mark of respect and in recognition of his contributions to the Senate.
