KUCHING, 19 September: Construction of the Rambungan Stang Bridge which is a major component of the first line of Sarawak Coast Road Project has now reached 73.27 percent progress and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Sarawak State Elder, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, today reviewed the construction of the bridge as he was on his way to attend the wedding of his daughter to longtime contact, Cr Raya Kechil in Rambungan Village, Lundu.
Astana Sarawak through a Facebook post informed Tun Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, welcomed the provision of road and bridge infrastructure as an essential basic facility in improving connectivity.
"Good connectivity will not only facilitate the movement of people but also improve access to economic opportunities, education and services, thus having a positive impact on the quality of life of local communities.
"The construction of the Rambungan Bridge also reflects the ongoing efforts of the Government of Sarawak to strengthen connectivity networks and provide better infrastructure facilities in order to enhance people's well-being and accelerate development in the area", according to the message.
Tun Wan Junaidi hopes that the construction project will be smooth and completed as planned so that the benefits can be enjoyed by local communities and road users. - TVS
