KUCHING (Jan 14): Police have arrested two local men in connection with the theft of car rims and tyres from a vehicle parked in the Taman BDC Stampin area here.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the arrests followed a police report lodged by a 40-year-old local woman on Jan 12, after two rims together with tyres were found missing from her car.
“Acting on intelligence, a team from the Kuching District Criminal Investigation Division arrested the suspects, aged 29 and 59, in two separate operations at around 4.40pm in the Jalan Tun Jugah area.

The case is being investigated under Section 379A(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of between one and seven years and may also include a fine upon conviction.
Alexson advised the public to remain vigilant and take extra measures to secure their vehicles.
