SIBU (Nov 4): Repair works will soon be carried out on two wooden bridges in Paradom areas here, said Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.

According to him, the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) and the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Community Service Team had been tasked to conduct repair works on each bridge.

“These two bridges could no longer withstand heavy loads due to traffic loads and natural wear and tear,” said Wong, who is also the PDP senior vice-president.

“Thus, repair works will soon have to be carried out to rehabilitate these bridges,” he added.

Joining Wong during the recent site inspection were newly appointed Sibu Rural District Council Councillor Wong Hua, Paradom community service chairman Ting Hung Hua, DID officer Mohammad Naziruddin, community leader Kapitan Ling Nai Wu, and local residents.
