KUCHING (Jan 6): Two key Sarawak government development projects namely the Leadership Institute of Sarawak Civil Service’s (LISCS) new headquarters in Santubong and a sports facility comprising a golf driving range in Petra Jaya are on track for completion this June.

State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said phase one for the LISCS project is almost fully completed, while phase two, which involves furniture installation and interior design works, is scheduled for completion by the end of June.

“LISCS is expected to begin operations in July 2026 once the project is fully completed.

“Once completed, it will serve as a conducive training campus for the development of public service talent, equipped with facilities such as lecture rooms, halls, an auditorium, accommodation for participants, and others,” said the LISCS chairman.

He said this after conducting a working visit to both project sites on Monday to review progress and implementation status of the ongoing developments, according to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).

On the construction of the golf driving range, Mohamad Abu Bakar said the facility is also expected to be completed by June. It will function as a training centre to nurture and develop young golfing talents at the grassroots level through more comprehensive training infrastructure.

He stressed that regular site monitoring is essential to ensure government projects are implemented efficiently, adhere to specifications and deliver long-term benefits to the community.

He added that the Sarawak government remains committed to ensuring both projects proceed according to schedule.
